Kent Chapline

Kent Chapline has been a professional electronic journalist since 1992. He is curently the Executive Web Producer at KTVT, the CBS owned-and-operated television station in Dallas/Fort Worth. In this role he is responsible for all the news, weather, and sports content on the station's Website, cbs11tv.com.

 

Prior to his current position, Chapline worked as a newscast producer and/or manager at KTVT, KOCO in Oklahoma City, KTSM in El Paso, and KXAS in Dallas/Fort Worth. He has produced newscasts in every daypart, covered many breaking news events as a line producer and/or field producer, and has produced dozens of news and sports special programs, both live and on tape. He covered firsthand most of the major news events in the southwestern United States since 1992, including the Branch Davidian standoff at Waco, the federal trials of Oklahoma City bombers Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols, the 1999 Oklahoma City tornado outbreak, the 2003 Shuttle Columbia disaster, and Hurricane Katrina. Chapline won several awards for his television producing, including a National Headliner Award and a Telly Award.
