Michelle Buckalew is an award-winning journalist with 14 years of experience in TV news production, management, marketing and writing.

She began her career at KTBC-TV in Austin as a newscast producer.  She was promoted to executive producer, where she was one of a three-member management team responsible for overseeing a staff of 50 at the Fox-owned station.  She joined the staff of KTVT-TV in Dallas, where she again began as newscast producer and eventually became executive producer for the CBS station.

Currently, in addition to her faculty responsibilities at TCU, Buckalew operates her own production company, Buckalew Media, where she coordinates with Texas media outlets to promote and organize promotional media campaigns for various clients.  She is also a special events planner and producer for the J. C. Penney Corp.

She is a winner of a Heartland Regional Emmy for Best Newscast in 2002, as well as a Pew Center for Civic Journalism Best Newscast Award in 2000.  In 2004, she won a Dallas Press Club award for best spot news coverage.
